2006 Microsoft WinCE ES (Embedded-System) Teaching Symposium was hosted by GEXIN Corp. and Beijing University of Technology (BJUT), with the help of Microsoft Asian Institute, WinCE ES branch of Chinese Software Association, Publishing-House Electronics Industry and Beihang University (BUAA, Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics) Publisher. The closing ceremony was held at BJUT on June 2nd, 2006.
More than 110 people came from 40 China well-known high schools participated in the symposium. They were the teachers who mainly in charged of the courses construction and the courses’ practical experiments, the related presidents and deans of some related schools, many teachers and social personages who were interested in the development of Embedded-System Teaching.
Wang Yanxing, secretary of Computer Institution of BJUT, Zhang Gao, manager of Ministry of High School Cooperation of Microsoft Asian Institute and Guo Chunxue, general secretary of Embedded-System branch of Chinese Software Association made enthusiasm speeches for the symposium’s opening.
Microsoft Asian Institute paid great attention to this teaching symposium. There was a special speech for introduction and development of Microsoft WinCE embedded products made by Liu Bing, who’s the supervisor for project technique of Microsoft Asian Project Institute. And Shang Lihong, the doctor of School of Electronic and Information Engineering of BUAA; Kuang Jian, the president of School of Computer Science and Technology of BUPT (Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications); Professor Wang Jingang, the pioneer of ES Teaching of SEIE of Tianjin University; Han Deqiang, the dean of Experiment Center of College of Computer Science and Technology of BJUT and the identifying lecturer of Microsoft company; each of them expanded their view on ES courses designing, applied, competition between students and on specific plans of how to launch the ES teaching for different expertise background and analyzed the ES teaching problems in practice with teachers in the scene.
Han Deqiang introduced the experience of ES teaching of College of Computer Science and Technology. And that afternoon’s WinCE ES teaching awarded most teachers praises.
The engineers of GEXIN Corp. gave an introduction of a series of GEXIN’s ES products to Experiment Center of College of Computer Science and Technology of BJUT.
The products of GX-ARM9-2410EP/BP and GX-PXA270 could greatly support to WinCE operating system. The characteristic of embedded teaching applied system which is a fine system customization to perform operations had a favorable reception from the teachers in the symposium.
This symposium not only gave plenty of advanced knowledge and experience of WinCE ES teaching of inland well-known high schools to the participants, but created a convenient environment to improve and communicate for the teachers in this area. This symposium laid the solid groundwork for future development of inland WinCE ES teaching.
GEXIN Corp. held this symposium for hoping to popularize advanced technique of ES, to extend the ES development in high schools and competition of electronic design, to do his bit to up bring talented people in line with the prevailing market.
